Page 339, Exercise 11. The temperature in the upper half plane where
T(x,0) = -100 for -1 < x < 0,
T(x,0) = 100 for 0 < x < 1.

Solution. Use the mapping [Graphics:t10.txtgr1.gif].

The temperature function is:

[Graphics:t10.txtgr3.gif][Graphics:t10.txtgr2.gif]

A graph for the solution is:

Temperature in a half plane, insulated along the segments x < -1, y = 0 and 1 < x, y = 0.

The figures for this example were drawn using the F(Z) example file: 339P1011.fzw
